Family History Starter Package — Build a Documented Foundation

Price range: $29.00 through $99.00

Turn scattered names, dates, family stories, photographs, records, and partial family-tree information into a documented starting foundation.
I will organize and research the deceased family members included in your selected package, distinguish supplied information from supported findings, document important sources, identify uncertainty, and recommend what should be researched next.
The objective is a reliable starting point—not a large speculative family tree.

Description

Start Your Family History With a Strong Foundation

Many people want to research their family history but do not know where to begin.

You may have:

  • names written in an old Bible
  • approximate birth or death dates
  • information from relatives
  • a partial online family tree
  • photographs with names on the back
  • obituaries or funeral cards
  • family stories that have never been documented
  • scattered records without an organized structure

This service turns that starting information into a documented genealogy framework that you can understand, preserve, and continue building.

I will review what you already know, research the most relevant deceased ancestors within your selected package, verify information where possible, organize relationships, document important sources, identify uncertainty, and recommend the strongest next research steps.

The objective is not to create an enormous speculative family tree.

The objective is to establish a reliable starting point.

What You Will Receive

Your completed Family History Starter Package will normally include:

Family Framework

An organized presentation of the researched individuals and how the available evidence connects them.

This may be presented as a simple pedigree-style structure, relationship summary, or another format appropriate to the information available.

Starting Information Review

A distinction between information you supplied and information independently supported during the project.

Documented Findings

Key names, relationships, dates, locations, occupations, residences, and other relevant information discovered within the purchased scope.

Source Documentation

Sources for significant research findings so that important evidence can be relocated and reviewed.

Evidence Notes

Identification of conflicting, uncertain, or unsupported information where applicable.

Supporting Records

Copies, excerpts, screenshots, or links where legally permitted, available, and useful.

Unresolved Questions

Important issues that remain uncertain after the purchased research block.

Recommended Next Steps

A prioritized explanation of where future research is most likely to be productive.

What I Need From You

Please provide as much as you have.

You do not need to know everything.

Useful starting information includes:

  1. Names of parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, or other known ancestors.
  2. Maiden names and alternate spellings where known.
  3. Approximate birth, marriage, and death dates.
  4. Known cities, counties, states, or countries.
  5. Known spouses, children, siblings, or parents.
  6. Family-tree files or screenshots.
  7. Obituaries, funeral cards, certificates, photographs, letters, Bible entries, or other family documents.
  8. Family stories or traditions you would like evaluated.
  9. Any conflicting dates, names, locations, or relationships you have noticed.
  10. Research you or another relative has already completed.
  11. The family branch you are most interested in developing first.

Living relatives may be included in information you provide as connecting family members, but this service focuses research on historical records concerning deceased individuals.

What This Service Is Designed to Do

This product is ideal when you are saying:

  • “I want to start researching my family but do not know where to begin.”
  • “I have names from my parents and grandparents but no organized tree.”
  • “My relatives gave me information, but I do not know which parts are documented.”
  • “I have an online tree but do not know whether the relationships are supported.”
  • “I inherited family papers and want to create a useful starting framework.”
  • “I want someone to establish the foundation before I spend time researching further generations.”

What Is Not Included

The Family History Starter Package is a foundation-building service.

It does not include:

  • unlimited family-tree construction
  • guaranteed research through a fixed number of generations
  • researching every sibling, spouse, cousin, or collateral relative discovered
  • complete biographies of every person
  • extensive brick-wall investigations
  • DNA match analysis or genetic genealogy
  • unknown biological-parent identification
  • adoption investigations
  • legal heirship conclusions
  • citizenship-by-descent application preparation
  • lineage-society certification
  • tribal-membership or enrollment determinations
  • background investigations involving living people
  • extensive international archival research
  • professional foreign-language translation
  • physical courthouse, archive, cemetery, or repository visits
  • paid certified records
  • third-party researcher costs
  • archive or repository fees
  • guaranteed discoveries or relationships

Promising relatives or family branches discovered during the project may be identified as recommended next steps rather than automatically researched.

Family Trees Are Not Evidence by Themselves

Online family trees can be useful clues, but they sometimes repeat undocumented relationships, incorrect dates, mistaken identities, or information copied from other trees.

I may use existing trees as research leads, but significant findings will be evaluated against available historical records whenever possible.

Information that cannot be adequately supported will be identified as uncertain rather than presented as established fact.

Genealogy May Remain Inconclusive

Not every relationship can be established during a short research project.

Historical records may be missing, destroyed, inaccessible, incorrectly indexed, or contradictory.

Your purchase covers the defined research and analysis included in your package. It does not guarantee that every person, relationship, or date will be confirmed.

An unresolved question will be identified honestly rather than filled with speculation.

Outside Costs

The package price covers my research, analysis, documentation, and report preparation.

Paid records, archive charges, repository fees, database access purchased specifically for a project, certified copies, and third-party researcher expenses are not included.

No outside expense will be incurred without your approval.

Revisions

One clarification/revision is included.

A revision covers correction, clarification, organization, or a reasonable adjustment to the delivered material based on the original project scope.

It does not include researching additional relatives, extending another generation, investigating a new branch, or performing additional research.

What Happens After You Order

  1. I will contact you by email. I will request the names, approximate dates, locations, known relationships, family stories, existing tree information, documents, photographs, and records relevant to the people included in your package.
  2. You provide the family information already available. Even incomplete material can be useful as long as known facts, family tradition, and uncertain information can be distinguished.
  3. I organize and research the defined starting family group. Work remains within the number of people and research scope included in your selected package.
  4. You receive the documented foundation electronically. The finished material organizes the supported family information, identifies significant sources and uncertainty, and explains the strongest next directions for continued research.

The objective is a reliable starting foundation rather than an unlimited family-tree expansion.

Research Focus

My strongest genealogy experience is with United States family-history research, with particular familiarity with western Pennsylvania families, records, communities, and migration patterns.
